Email Marketing TipsEmail Marketing Tips- Lots of people claim to know the perfect email marketing tips. We don't claim to have all the email marketing tips, but we like to keep our tips short and sweet! No confusing techniques to follow, just simple email marketing tips! As we stated in the opening paragraph, we don't claim to have all the email marketing tips there are. In fact, if anybody tells you that they have that or have the absolute best email marketing tips, they are full of bologna. Nobody has the perfect ones because what works for us might not work for you. It's all about trial and error. What we can offer you are some of the email marketing tools that we have done over the years that have proven to work for us. 1) Select your cliental group- What we mean by that is make sure you are only sending out your emails to the group of people that have somewhat interest in your product or service. Why would you send out a newsletter on police guns to a religious family that doesn't believe in guns? That would be a waste time on both your part and their part for reading it. Get to know your cliental group. When you collect their emails or they provide them to you, obtain additional information that can help you in the future. It's not uncommon to see forms that people fill out with several boxes to check if they are interested in that product. 2) Write about one topic- There is no need to write a ton of information on each of you emails. Pick one topic and write a short article on that. People don't like to read forever about products or services. We have found that keeping the newsletters short and to the point have a better success rate. 3) Make it personal- It isn't that much additional work to set up your emails and newsletters to be more personalized. Including the recipient's first name in the email a couple times will make them think that the email is about them. Kind of the same treatment those ma and pa country stores do! 4) Links within email newsletters- This is a great opportunity for you to push traffic to your site and very easy for your readers to get to your site. For instance, our friend has a golf equipment review site and if he sends out a newsletter about the new Callaway Diablo Edge irons, it would make a lot of sense to include a link in the email to his review on them. It is proven that people will visit your site more this way than if they had to open their internet browser and try to locate your site. 5) Don't spam it- With email marketing you are already walking on thin ice with the CAN-SPAM Act (which is great!) so you have to be extra careful. We once gave our email to a company and they send out emails on a daily basis. We don't even read them anymore because we are annoyed that they send them out so often. This is a tricky area to perfect because it takes trail and error to learn how much is too much and how little is too little. While an email newsletter being sent out once a week is great for one, it might be too often for others. If you have new products or specials on a regular basis you can get away with more emails than a company with static products or their services never change. After time you will be able to see what is working and the frequency of your emails. So those are our five email marketing tips. While they aren't perfect for everybody, they have proven to be very effective for us. Don't forget to check your site stats.
